Meteora (MET) is the native token of the Meteora protocol on Solana, which offers DLMM, DAMM v2 and vault tooling for liquidity management. MET underpins governance, supports incentive and launch workflows via Liquidity Distributor NFTs and functions as a pairing asset across Meteora integrations.
Meteora (MET) is the native SPL token of Meteora, a liquidity infrastructure protocol on Solana. Meteora provides the Dynamic Liquidity Market Maker (DLMM), DAMM v2 pools and vault tooling used to launch, manage and route liquidity. MET aligns the protocol’s mechanisms with token-holder decision making and incentive design across these products.
- Governance: MET is intended to support protocol governance, enabling token holders to participate in proposals and signal preferences on parameters, product roadmaps and treasury usage.
- Liquidity incentives and launch mechanics: Eligible users can opt to convert allocations into a Liquidity Distributor NFT, which represents a proportional share of the initial DAMM v2 launch pool. This position accrues swap fees and can later be redeemed for its underlying share of assets.
- Ecosystem integrations: MET can act as a quote or paired asset within DLMM/DAMM v2 configurations, and is supported across Meteora’s liquidity and vault tooling used by integrators and launch partners.
Meteora was developed by contributors who previously worked on Mercurial Finance, an earlier Solana DeFi project. Identified founders include Ben Chow and Zhen Hoe Yong. Following changes in 2025, Zhen Hoe Yong has been referenced as the project lead.
