deBridge supports several cross-chain functionalities:
- Cross-Chain Swaps: Facilitates seamless and direct transfers of assets between different blockchain networks. It eliminates the need for intermediaries and minimises slippage risks through its liquidity-efficient design.
- NFT Interoperability: Allows NFTs to be transferred between blockchains while maintaining their unique properties, such as metadata and logic related to on-chain functionalities like breeding or staking.
- Multi-Chain dApps: Enables the development of dApps that can interact with different blockchains, allowing for scalability and accessibility across multiple ecosystems.
The protocol also supports the deBridge Liquidity Network (DLN), a high-performance solution for cross-chain value transfers without requiring locked liquidity in pools, enhancing both security and flexibility.
deBridge was co-founded by Alex Smirnov, who has a strong academic background in mathematics and mechanics. The project was initiated during the Chainlink Global Hackathon in April 2021, where it won the grand prize. Since its inception, deBridge has secured partnerships and funding from several notable players in the blockchain space, including ParaFi Capital and Huobi Ventures.
