Question 1

What is StorageChain v1 (WSTORV1)?

Accepted Answer

StorageChain (WSTOR) is a decentralised cloud storage and file-sharing platform that utilises blockchain technology. It integrates the InterPlanetary File System (IPFS) to offer a highly secure and distributed file storage solution. The platform relies on a network of "storage nodes" to store and retrieve data in a peer-to-peer manner, ensuring security, availability, and speed. Built on the Substrate framework, StorageChain is compatible with Ethereum, allowing users to benefit from Ethereum-based smart contracts and features. StorageChain employs a Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism to maintain network integrity and energy efficiency.

Question 2

What is StorageChain v1 (WSTORV1) used for?

Accepted Answer

StorageChain's primary use case is decentralised data storage. By leveraging a distributed network, it aims to offer a more secure alternative to traditional cloud storage services like Google Drive or Amazon S3. The platform is particularly focused on ensuring data privacy and integrity, which is enhanced through its integration with IPFS. The native cryptocurrency, STOR, is used to reward participants who provide storage and bandwidth services. WSTOR, an ERC-20 token, acts as the wrapped version of STOR, facilitating trading on the Ethereum network and decentralised exchanges (DEXs).

Question 3

Who created StorageChain v1 (WSTORV1)?

Accepted Answer

StorageChain is developed by StorageChain LLC, with its headquarters focusing on pioneering decentralised file-sharing and storage solutions.
