Question 1

What is Usual (USUAL)?

Accepted Answer

Usual (USUAL) is the governance asset of the Usual protocol, a decentralised finance (DeFi) ecosystem designed to issue stablecoins backed by real-world assets (RWAs). The protocol's flagship stablecoin, USD0, is fully collateralised by tokenised US Treasury Bills, ensuring stability and transparency. USUAL enables decentralised governance and value redistribution within the protocol, empowering its holders to influence the system's evolution.

Question 2

What is Usual (USUAL) used for?

Accepted Answer

The USUAL governance asset serves three primary purposes:

1. **Governance**:
   - USUAL holders can participate in the decision-making process of the protocol.
   - This includes proposing and voting on key decisions, such as:
     - Adjustments to yield rates and incentive mechanisms.
     - The introduction of new real-world assets as collateral.
     - Deployment of protocol upgrades or new features.

2. **Value Redistribution**:
   - USUAL is integral to the protocol's value-sharing model, redistributing a portion of the revenues generated from stablecoin-related activities (e.g., yield on US Treasury-backed assets).
   - Contributors to the protocol, such as liquidity providers, are rewarded in a manner that aligns with the protocol's growth.

3. **Ecosystem Alignment**:
   - By holding USUAL, participants align their interests with the long-term success of the protocol.
   - USUAL incentivises active participation in governance and supports the decentralisation of decision-making.
