Question 1

What is CoinVertible?

Accepted Answer

CoinVertible is a stablecoin framework developed by Société Générale–FORGE (SG-FORGE), the digital asset subsidiary of Société Générale. It provides fiat-backed tokens compliant with the EU Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA). These electronic money tokens (EMTs) include EUR CoinVertible (EURCV) and USD CoinVertible (USDCV), both pegged 1:1 to their respective currencies and backed by fully segregated cash reserves.

The tokens are issued on public blockchains such as Ethereum (ERC-20) and Solana, and are designed to integrate with both traditional financial systems and blockchain-based applications. SG-FORGE is authorised as an Electronic Money Institution by the ACPR and registered with the AMF as an investment firm and digital asset service provider.

CoinVertible is intended for institutional and regulated use, enabling seamless interaction between fiat and blockchain infrastructure. All tokens are subject to compliance requirements and redemption rights under MiCA.

Question 2

What is USD CoinVertible (USDCV) token used for?

Accepted Answer

USD CoinVertible (USDCV) is a US dollar-denominated stablecoin issued by SG-FORGE. It is designed to offer a regulated digital equivalent of USD, backed 1:1 by reserves held in accounts at BNY Mellon. USDCV supports institutional use cases across finance, payments, and digital infrastructure.

Key use cases include:

- **Cross-border payments**, with near-instant settlement.
- **Real-time FX operations**, especially when paired with EURCV.
- **After-hours settlement**, enabled by blockchain’s 24/7 availability.
- **Digital payments** for tokenised assets and on-chain applications.
- **Stable-value holding** in USD for portfolio risk management.
- **Integration with DeFi**, enabling lending, collateralisation, and liquidity provision.
- **Execution of smart contracts** requiring USD-denominated value.

Institutions onboarded with SG-FORGE can acquire USDCV by transferring USD and receiving the equivalent token amount. Redemption is available 1:1 in USD, and all operations are subject to MiCA and SG-FORGE compliance controls.

Question 3

Who created USD CoinVertible (USDCV)?
