Uniswap Protocol Token (Avalanche Bridge)

Uniswap (Avalanche Bridge) (UNI.e) is a version of the Uniswap token that has been bridged from the Ethereum blockchain to the Avalanche blockchain via the Avalanche Bridge. UNI is the governance token for the Uniswap protocol, a decentralized exchange which facilitates automated trading of decentralized finance (DeFi) tokens. The "e" in UNI.e signifies that it was originally an ERC-20 token on Ethereum and has been transferred to the Avalanche network, enabling it to benefit from faster transaction speeds and lower fees.

UNI.e is utilized within the Avalanche ecosystem to participate in governance decisions of the Uniswap protocol deployed on Avalanche. It allows holders to vote on development proposals and changes to the protocol, engage in liquidity mining, and stake in various DeFi platforms on Avalanche, thereby integrating Ethereum’s vibrant DeFi functionalities with the scalable, high-throughput environment of Avalanche.

The bridging of UNI to the Avalanche network, resulting in UNI.e, was facilitated by the Avalanche Bridge, developed by Ava Labs. This bridge uses Intel SGX technology for secure and efficient asset transfers, managed by a consortium of trusted partners known as Wardens. These Wardens ensure the integrity and security of cross-chain transfers, supporting the token’s reliability and utility within the Avalanche ecosystem.
