Question 1

What is UCOIN (U)?

Accepted Answer

UCOIN (U) is the native utility token of the U-topia ecosystem, a financial infrastructure designed to connect decentralised finance with practical payment and reward systems. It enables transactions, staking, and loyalty-based redemptions within U-topia’s PayFi model, which integrates blockchain settlement, regulated fiat on- and off-ramps, and AI-based financial tools.

The ecosystem includes products such as Topi AI, U-Wallet, and U-Rewards, each built to expand the usability of blockchain-based assets in retail and institutional environments. UCOIN acts as the transactional medium and reward unit across these products, providing users with an accessible and regulated bridge between crypto and traditional finance.

Question 2

What is UCOIN (U) used for?

Accepted Answer

UCOIN is used as a functional token within the U-topia ecosystem to support financial and engagement operations.

**Medium of exchange:** Used for payments, remittances, and in-platform transactions across U-topia’s PayFi network.
**Staking:** Participants can lock tokens for defined periods to earn staking rewards, contributing to liquidity and network participation.
**Loyalty and rewards:** Through U-Rewards, users can redeem accumulated tokens for goods and services, including retail products and digital assets.
**Fee settlement:** Serves as a gas substitute within the U-Wallet, which employs account abstraction to allow gasless transactions.
**OTC and conversion:** Facilitates crypto-fiat operations through the U-topia OTC infrastructure connected with institutional partners.

Each use case reinforces circulation and real-world interaction, positioning UCOIN as a transactional token rather than a speculative asset.

Question 3

Technical architecture

Accepted Answer

UCOIN is an ERC-20 token deployed on Ethereum and integrated with BNB Smart Chain and Arbitrum through cross-chain bridges. It operates with 18 decimal places of precision, maintaining full compatibility with standard ERC-20-based systems and wallets.

Key technical elements include:

**Chainlink integration:** Provides on-chain pricing feeds to stabilise conversion and reward calculations.
**Compound-style staking contracts:** Support tiered staking pools with variable yields and defined cool-off periods.
**Multi-signature governance:** Administrative controls and treasury functions are managed through Gnosis Safe multisig wallets.
**Audited smart contracts:** Token and staking contracts are externally audited, with Merkle-based vesting checkpoints ensuring transparency.
**Cross-chain interoperability:** Bridge contracts enable consistent token behaviour and supply management across supported networks.

The token’s precision and compliance layer ensure smooth integration with both decentralised and institutional systems.

Question 4

The U-topia ecosystem

Accepted Answer

The broader U-topia ecosystem extends UCOIN’s utility across several products and infrastructures.

**Topi AI:** A market intelligence and analytics assistant integrated into messaging platforms such as Telegram, providing real-time insights and automated trading execution.
**U-Wallet:** A self-custodial account abstraction wallet allowing multi-chain asset management without manual gas management.
**U-Rewards:** A reward engine using tU Points and UCOIN for redeemable incentives across retail and service partners.
**OTC platform:** A regulated over-the-counter exchange providing compliant fiat on- and off-ramps for global users.

Together, these components form a vertically integrated system connecting blockchain usability with consumer finance and enterprise adoption.

Question 5

Token model and supply

Accepted Answer

UCOIN has a fixed total supply of 1,000,000,000 tokens. Circulating supply, vesting, and investor allocations are enforced through transparent smart contracts with predefined linear release schedules. Lock and vesting durations range from 12 to 36 months depending on allocation type.
Staking penalties and early exit fees are recycled into the reward pool to maintain sustainability. Supply management and treasury operations are executed via multi-signature governance to mitigate centralisation risks.

Question 6

Consensus and network structure

Accepted Answer

UCOIN functions within the Ethereum network under its Proof-of-Stake consensus, while interoperability bridges extend its operations to compatible EVM chains. The underlying infrastructure follows the ERC-4337 account abstraction model in its wallet systems, reducing complexity for retail users.

All transactions, staking operations, and fee settlements are recorded on-chain, with off-chain OTC transactions synchronised through verifiable attestation mechanisms.

Question 7

Who created UCOIN (U)?

Accepted Answer

UCOIN was developed by U-topia, founded by Emmanuel Quezada. The team includes Owen Man Cheong Ma (Chief Revenue Officer), Jeremy Mahieu (Head of Partnerships and IPs), Tyler Leonard (Vice President of Marketing and Sales), and Claire Lovelace (Chief Financial Officer).
