Tellor Tributes (TRB) is the official token of the Tellor project, a decentralized oracle on the Ethereum network. TRB is used for incentivizing validators, securing data points, and handling governance matters within the Tellor system.

TRB's primary uses include incentivizing miners, serving as a staking deposit, and acting as a payment method for dispute fees in the Tellor system. It also plays a role in the dispute resolution process, with token ownership being used to calculate votes in disputes.

Tellor was founded in 2019 in the United States by Brenda Loya, Nick Fett, and Michael Zemrose. These co-founders brought diverse backgrounds in blockchain technology, economics, regulation, and entrepreneurship to the project.

In February 2021, Tellor experienced a major error during an upgrade, leading to the freezing of its system and the TRB token. To resolve this, Tellor redeployed its core contracts and initiated a migration to a new TRB token. This migration required TRB holders to mint new tokens on a 1:1 ratio based on their existing balances, with detailed instructions provided for various wallets and exchanges.
