Squid Game (SQUID) is a cryptocurrency initially launched as a meme token on the Binance Smart Chain (BSC). It has evolved into a cross-chain token with the introduction of its V2 version, now operating on the Tron blockchain as well. The project aims to offer a decentralised, community-driven platform, with no central leadership or promises. The development of SQUID V2 has focused on ensuring cross-chain interoperability, allowing it to operate across different blockchain networks with increased security.

SQUID is primarily used within its own decentralised finance (DeFi) ecosystem. It supports staking, swapping, and trading, alongside plans for future applications in decentralised exchanges (DEXs) and broader DeFi functionalities. However, users are cautioned that SQUID and its ecosystem are considered high-risk investments.

The original creators of SQUID V1 were anonymous, and after some initial controversy surrounding its launch, the project was revitalised by a community of volunteers. The current version, SQUID V2, operates without a central leadership team, relying on community members to manage and guide its ongoing development.
