About SOMESING

SSX was the original token of Somesing, a blockchain karaoke platform for creating and sharing music. It enabled rewards, fan engagement, and transactions until January 2024, when a security incident led to its discontinuation. A one-to-one token swap migrated all balances from SSX to SSG, with a snapshot taken March 28, 2024. SSX has since been retired, and the ecosystem continues with SSG.

Somesing is a blockchain-powered mobile karaoke and music platform where users can sing, record, remix, and share performances. The app integrates blockchain infrastructure to track ownership of user-generated content, distribute rewards fairly, and manage copyright in a transparent way. It was designed to combine social entertainment with a secure economic model for creators.

SSX was the original utility token of the Somesing ecosystem. It served as the medium of exchange within the platform, enabling reward distribution, user engagement features, and transactions between participants. Users who created and shared content could earn SSX, while fans could support artists and engage with performances through SSX-based interactions.

SSX played a central role in building the initial token economy of Somesing. However, in January 2024 the token was affected by a security incident. As a result, the team decided to discontinue SSX and replace it with a new token under stricter security controls.

Following the incident, the Somesing team announced a full migration from SSX to a new token called SSG. A one-to-one swap was arranged, preserving user balances. A snapshot of SSX balances was taken on March 28, 2024, after which SSX transfers and contracts were suspended. From that point, only SSG carried value and utility, while SSX was permanently retired.

The swap not only protected users but also provided the opportunity to improve smart contract design and rebuild trust in the project’s ecosystem.

Somesing was developed by a Korea- and Singapore-based team with backgrounds in mobile entertainment and blockchain technology. Their vision was to democratise music creation and distribution by rewarding creators through an on-chain system. Although SSX is no longer active, it laid the foundation for the ecosystem that continues under SSG.
