Question 1

What is Songbird (SGB)?

Accepted Answer

Songbird (SGB) is the canary network for the Flare blockchain. It serves as an experimental platform where developers can test and deploy applications in a live environment before they are implemented on the main Flare network. Songbird aims to provide a robust and flexible testing ground, ensuring the stability and reliability of Flare's features and smart contracts. The native token of Songbird is SGB, which is used for various purposes within the network.

Question 2

What is Songbird (SGB) used for?

Accepted Answer

Songbird (SGB) has several key uses within its ecosystem:

Network Operations: SGB is used to pay for transaction fees and other operational costs on the Songbird network. This ensures the smooth functioning of the platform and incentivises validators and other participants.

Testing and Development: As a canary network, Songbird allows developers to test applications, smart contracts, and other blockchain functionalities in a live environment. This helps identify and resolve potential issues before deploying on the main Flare network.

Governance: SGB token holders can participate in the governance of the Songbird network. They can vote on proposals related to protocol changes, upgrades, and other significant decisions, contributing to the decentralised management of the platform.

Incentives and Rewards: SGB tokens are used to incentivise users and developers to engage with the network, provide liquidity, and participate in various network activities.

Question 3
