QAIT is the native utility, payment and governance token of the SEALCOIN ecosystem. SEALCOIN is a platform designed for machine-to-machine transactions, where connected devices and AI agents can exchange services, data, compute or energy and settle payments through smart contracts.
QAIT acts as the settlement mechanism for transactions within the network. Devices can use QAIT to pay for services once agreed execution conditions are verified. The token is also used to access network services and support incentives for participation in the ecosystem.
QAIT is linked to SEALCOIN’s Proof-of-Security model, which verifies device identity and cryptographic integrity before devices interact with the network.
QAIT is used as a payment and settlement token for machine-to-machine transactions within SEALCOIN.
It is also used for device onboarding through Proof-of-Security, which links hardware identity and cryptographic integrity to participation in the network.
QAIT supports SEALCOIN’s sector-based marketplaces, including services related to space communications, energy and electric mobility, distributed compute and data. These marketplaces are designed so devices can discover services, agree transaction conditions and exchange value.
QAIT is also used for governance. Token holders can take part in on-chain votes covering protocol parameters, treasury allocations and ecosystem decisions.
Additional token uses include staking for network validation, AI agent transaction budgets and clearing payments for compute or energy resources.
QAIT is issued and governed by the QAIT Association, a Swiss non-profit association based in Zurich. The association is responsible for token issuance policies, token distribution, treasury oversight and governance of the QAIT ecosystem.
QAIT was created as part of the SEALCOIN ecosystem, with the QAIT Association acting as the token issuer and governance body. SEALCOIN AG provides the technology environment for token-based machine transactions, while the QAIT Association manages the token and its governance framework.
Jonathan LLamas and Andrew Forson are listed as founding members of the QAIT Association. SEALCOIN AG is connected to WISeKey International Holding AG and the SEALCOIN ecosystem uses infrastructure linked to Hedera DLT.
