What is $PIRATE used for?

$PIRATE, the native currency of PirateCash, is used for several key functions within its ecosystem: * **Efficient Security:** Being a PoS coin, $PIRATE secures its network without the need for extensive computing power. This approach is detailed in the PirateCash whitepaper. * **Limited Supply:** There is a cap on the total supply of PIRATEs, with only 105 million coins ever to be created. This limited supply ensures that $PIRATE cannot be printed or debased, maintaining its value. * **Coin Staking:** Users can earn rewards by holding onto their PirateCash. After holding $PIRATE for 8 hours, they become eligible to earn a reward of 50 PIRATEs. This reward is subject to halving every four years. This staking process is an integral part of the coin's minting mechanism, encouraging users to invest and participate in the network's growth. ***Although 'PIRATE' was the ticker assigned at the deployment of the PirateCash Token's smart contract, it is already in use by another asset that has a larger market presence and higher trading volume on major exchanges. Due to this pre-existing association and to avoid confusion in the marketplace, the alternative ticker 'PIRATECASH' has been adopted for this token. This designation is specifically used to ensure that assets are distinctly identified.***
