Question 1

What is Marinade (MNDE)?

Accepted Answer

Marinade is a staking protocol developed on the Solana blockchain, launched following a grant from the Solana ecosystem at the 2021 Solana Hackathon. It offers an automated staking strategy and the choice between native staking or liquid staking with mSOL (marinated SOL), a token that can be used throughout Solana's DeFi ecosystem. Marinade focuses on decentralizing the network by spreading stakes to smaller, reliable validators, thereby enhancing network security. Additionally, the platform aims to simplify the user experience in crypto staking and DeFi, making it as easy as a few clicks. Marinade also encourages the adoption of cryptocurrencies and creates opportunities in DeFi by making staked assets liquid and usable within the ecosystem.

Question 2

Who created Marinade (MNDE)?

Accepted Answer

Marinade Finance was founded by Lucio Tato.

Question 3

What is $MNDE Used For?

Accepted Answer

The $MNDE token serves several purposes in the Marinade ecosystem:

Governance: MNDE token holders have governance rights, allowing them to participate in decision-making processes regarding the treasury and protocol through on-chain voting. The DAO governance was launched in April 2022, with the governance platform migrating to Realms in July 2023 for direct control by MNDE holders.

Revenue Generation for the Protocol: Marinade generates revenue through management fees from the liquid staking pool, instant unstaking fees from its SOL liquidity pool, and yield from active positions in Solana DeFi.

Participation in MEV Bandwidth Marketplace: Marinade is piloting mTransaction, an MEV bandwidth marketplace, where validators can participate.

Locking for veMNDE: MNDE holders can lock their tokens in Realms to obtain veMNDE, which aligns with the DAO Constitution ratified by the holders, outlining Marinade's goals and operations.

Marinade, thus, stands as a dynamic protocol in the Solana ecosystem, offering users ways to stake SOL efficiently and participate actively in the growth and governance of the platform.
