Metis Token (METIS) was founded by Elena Sinelnikova, Kevin Liu, and Yuan Su. Elena Sinelnikova is a software developer and entrepreneur, known for her role in leading the CryptoChicks organization. Kevin Liu is a serial entrepreneur with a focus on research and practice in DAOs, governance protocols, and the token economy. The foundation of Metis dates back to 2019, and the business officially launched on November 17, 2021. The founding team aimed to create an accessible, scalable, and low-cost Layer 2 framework, which is now known as Metis Rollup​​​
