MetaDAO provides a platform for creating and managing DAOs, utilising tools for governance, token issuance, and community building.
MetaDAO (META) is used for several purposes:
Governance: Utilising futarchy, MetaDAO allows decisions to be made based on market predictions about future outcomes. This method aims to increase transparency and efficiency in governance processes. DAO Creation and Management: The platform provides the infrastructure needed to launch and manage DAOs, including tools for proposal creation, voting, and execution. Token Issuance: MetaDAO supports the issuance of native tokens (META) which can be used within the ecosystem for governance and incentivisation. Community Engagement: MetaDAO includes features for building and managing communities, encouraging active participation in governance and development.
MetaDAO was founded by an individual known as Proph3t, who was inspired by Robin Hanson's writings on futarchy. Proph3t had experience in Ethereum DeFi and collaborated with Nallok, a market maker and validator operator in the Solana ecosystem. The project officially launched in November 2023, initially distributing 10,000 META tokens via airdrop.
