Manta Network

Manta Network is a privacy-focused blockchain platform that uses advanced cryptographic techniques, including zero-knowledge proofs (zk-SNARKs), to enable secure, anonymous transactions and decentralised applications (dApps). It operates through two key components: Manta Pacific, a Layer 2 solution built on Ethereum for scalability and privacy in zero-knowledge (ZK) applications, and Manta Atlantic, a Layer 1 chain on Polkadot focused on ZK programmable identities and credentials.

Manta Network is designed to provide a modular and developer-friendly ecosystem that supports a wide range of Web3 applications, from private DeFi solutions to privacy-enhanced NFTs. The platform emphasises scalability and interoperability, allowing seamless integration across different blockchains​.

Manta Network is primarily used to facilitate privacy-preserving transactions and applications on blockchain. The native token, MANTA, plays multiple roles within the ecosystem. It is used to pay for transaction fees on Manta Atlantic, to participate in governance, and for staking to help secure the network. MANTA holders can vote on key decisions, propose changes, and participate in the decentralised governance of the network​.

The platform is particularly suited for developers building zero-knowledge applications, such as anonymous payment systems, decentralised exchanges (DEXs), and identity verification services that maintain user privacy. Manta also integrates zk-SBTs (Soulbound Tokens) for private, reusable zkAddresses, enhancing privacy in interactions and transactions across the blockchain.
