This token is inspired by Leopold, the pet cat of Stacks founder Muneeb Ali, and serves to promote decentralised finance (DeFi) culture within the Stacks community.
LEO plays multiple roles within the Stacks ecosystem, working to boost DeFi adoption by encouraging the use of decentralised finance applications and increasing user engagement. Although 'LEO' was the ticker assigned at the deployment of the LEO Token's smart contract, it is already in use by another asset that has a larger market presence and higher trading volume on major exchanges. Due to this pre-existing association and to avoid confusion in the marketplace, the alternative ticker 'LEOCOIN' has been adopted for this token. This designation is specifically used to ensure that assets are distinctly identified.
