KAIO is the native token of the KAIO protocol, a real-world asset tokenisation protocol focused on bringing institutional financial products onchain. The KAIO platform supports the issuance and management of tokenised assets such as money market funds, private credit funds and other regulated financial products. Its infrastructure uses smart contracts to manage investment execution, settlement, transfer controls and asset servicing.

KAIO’s system is designed to connect regulated financial products with blockchain-based applications while keeping compliance checks, investor permissions and transfer restrictions within the protocol. The platform supports tokenised fund products, settlement functions and distributor access through its gateway and APIs.

KAIO is used for access to the KAIO protocol, staking participation and governance voting on protocol and treasury decisions. Governance is linked to the KAIO Foundation, which supports protocol development, treasury management and ecosystem growth.

Within the wider KAIO ecosystem, the protocol supports subscriptions, redemptions, settlement, transfer controls and lifecycle management for tokenised financial products. These products can be used across supported blockchain networks, subject to investor eligibility, jurisdictional rules and product-specific restrictions.

KAIO’s infrastructure is also designed to allow tokenised real-world assets to be used in onchain applications such as lending, collateralised borrowing and other financial use cases where permissions and compliance controls are required.
