Question 1

What is Mantle Restaked Ether (CMETH)?

Accepted Answer

Mantle Restaked Ether (CMETH) is a liquid restaking token within the Mantle Network ecosystem. It represents Ethereum (ETH) that has been restaked through Mantle's mETH Protocol, allowing users to earn additional rewards while maintaining liquidity. CMETH is designed to be highly composable across various decentralized finance (DeFi) applications on Mantle's Layer 2 (L2) network.

Question 2

What is Mantle Restaked Ether (CMETH) used for?

Accepted Answer

CMETH serves multiple purposes within the Mantle ecosystem:

* **Earning Additional Rewards:** By restaking ETH through the mETH Protocol, users receive CMETH, which accrues additional rewards over time.

* **DeFi Participation:** CMETH can be utilized in various DeFi applications on Mantle's L2 network, such as lending, borrowing, and liquidity provision.

* **Governance:** Holders of CMETH may participate in governance decisions within the Mantle ecosystem, influencing protocol upgrades and other key aspects.

Question 3

Who created Mantle Restaked Ether (CMETH)?

Accepted Answer

CMETH is a product of the Mantle Network, which aims to enhance capital efficiency in the on-chain economy through modular architecture and innovative solutions. The mETH Protocol, which facilitates the restaking mechanism for CMETH, was introduced by Mantle in late 2023.
