Biafracoin (USBT) is a BEP-20 token created as the digital form of Biafra’s proposed national currency. Issued by BRGIE, it is designed for use in local and diaspora transactions, development contributions, and as a store of value outside the Nigerian system.

Biafracoin (USBT), also known as the United States Biafra Token, is a cryptocurrency token issued on the Binance Smart Chain (BEP-20). It serves as the digital form of Ejemma, the proposed national currency of Biafra. The token is managed by the Biafracoin Board and was created by the Biafra Republic Government in Exile (BRGIE).

Biafracoin is compatible with WalletConnect applications and is intended to operate within a parallel economic system to support financial autonomy in Biafra and among its diaspora.

Biafracoin is intended for everyday transactions, savings, and development funding within and for Biafra. Key uses include:

  • Buying and selling goods and services in Biafraland
  • Supporting remittances from Biafrans abroad for infrastructure or community development
  • Providing an alternative means to store and transfer value
  • Enabling economic activity outside the Nigerian financial system

The token is not mineable. Instead, it has featured staking options, allowing holders to lock up funds temporarily in return for rewards. Staking programmes may be offered again through exchanges or other providers.

Biafracoin was created by the Biafra Republic Government in Exile (BRGIE) and is administered by the Biafracoin Board. BRGIE also oversees the Bank of Biafra and promotes the use of Biafracoin as part of its broader goal of establishing an independent Biafran state. Adoption efforts include tutorials in local languages and regional contact points to facilitate onboarding and usage.
