Autonomys Network (AI3) is a blockchain and decentralised AI stack built around storage-based consensus (Proof-of-Archival-Storage), a proof-of-time chain, a multi-layer storage network and a decoupled execution layer called domains. AI3 is the native token used to reward farming, stake and slash operators, pay execution and storage fees, and compensate data contributions used in AI training and inference. The identity suite (Auto ID) enables verifiable credentials for humans and agents, while Auto Score provides probabilistic proof-of-personhood to reduce Sybil risk. Domains support EVM/WASM and app-specific execution with optimistic fraud proofs, separating ordering from computation for scalability and retrievability across the network.
Autonomys Network is a blockchain and decentralised AI infrastructure that combines a storage-based consensus mechanism (“Proof-of-Archival-Storage”), a separate proof-of-time chain, a distributed storage network and a decoupled execution layer called “domains”. The native token, AI3, underpins participation and incentives across these layers, including block production (“farming”), staking for operator roles and payments within domains. The stack targets human- and agent-centric applications that need verifiable identity, data provenance and scalable compute/storage.
Consensus & block production: Farmers allocate SSD storage to maintain provably unique partial replicas of chain history and answer on-chain audits to propose blocks. AI3 is used for rewards and fees tied to this process.
Time beacons & unpredictability: A proof-of-time chain provides verifiable, sequential delay outputs that seed leader election and strengthen defence against long-range attacks; AI3 supports the economic flows of these operations.
Execution (“domains”) and fees: Execution is separated from ordering. Staked operator nodes execute bundles for specific domains (EVM/WASM or app-specific) and share fees with farmers. Domains use optimistic fraud proofs by default. Fees and incentives are paid in AI3.
Storage & data access: A multi-layer distributed storage network (archival L1, cache L2, CDN-like L3) ensures retrievability of historical data and user objects. Payments for storage and retrieval map to AI3-denominated blockspace economics.
Identity & agents: “Auto ID” provides decentralised identities and verifiable credentials for humans and AI agents; “Auto Score” offers a probabilistic proof-of-personhood. Agents use on-chain permissions and can pay/receive funds using AI3.
Data contribution & compensation: A tokenised framework values and compensates user and device data contributions for model training and inference, with accrual and claims recorded on domains in AI3.
