Question 1

What is Archway (ARCH)?

Accepted Answer

Archway is a Cosmos-native smart contract blockchain designed to support the development and deployment of high-performance decentralized applications (dapps). It offers a unique incentive model where developers are rewarded for the value their dapps contribute to the network. This reward system encompasses a share of network fees, inflation, and premiums, allowing for recurring value generation and participation in the protocol's success.

Question 2

Who Created Archway (ARCH)?

Accepted Answer

Archway was founded by Griffin Anderson and launched with the backing of Tendermint Ventures. The development and maintenance of the Archway platform are currently handled by Phi Labs. Archway integrates with the Cosmos ecosystem, utilizing its SDK and Tendermint for networking and consensus layers.

Question 3

What is $ARCH Used For?

Accepted Answer

$ARCH serves multiple roles within the Archway ecosystem:

Developer Incentives: One of the primary uses of $ARCH is to incentivize developers by providing them a share of various revenue streams. This includes a portion of transaction fees, inflationary rewards, and potentially, smart contract fees. This incentive model is designed to encourage impactful dapp development on the network.

Network Features: Archway employs a mix of predefined Cosmos modules and custom modules developed specifically for its network. These include:

Minting: Manages token minting and inflation.
CosmWasm: Facilitates the execution of WebAssembly Smart Contracts.
Staking and Governance: Handles validator management and token-based voting and governance.
IBC Protocol: Enables asset transfers across Cosmos blockchains.
Rewards and Tracking Modules: Calculate and distribute rewards to smart contracts and track gas consumption on a per-transaction basis.
Funding Sources for Dapps: Archway provides dapps with potential funding sources, such as gas fee rebates, a share of inflationary rewards, and earnings from smart contract fees.

By combining the features of the Cosmos ecosystem with its unique modules, Archway positions itself as a platform where dapps not only contribute to but also benefit from the network's growth and activity. This creates a symbiotic relationship between developers and the network, driving innovation and participation in the Cosmos DeFi space.
