Across Protocol (ACX) is a cross-chain bridge built for efficient and secure asset transfers across blockchain networks. The ACX governance asset enables decentralised decision-making, rewards participants for their contributions, and ensures the smooth operation of the protocol.
Across Protocol is a cross-chain bridge that facilitates token transfers between blockchain networks. It utilises UMA’s optimistic oracle to verify transactions, aiming to balance security and efficiency. The protocol employs a single liquidity pool and a competitive relayer network to streamline operations and support interoperability across Layer 2 solutions and rollups.
The ACX governance asset plays a pivotal role in the operation and decision-making processes of the Across Protocol ecosystem. ACX holders are granted governance rights, allowing them to propose and vote on protocol updates, parameter changes, and treasury allocations. This ensures that the community has an active role in shaping the future of the protocol.
ACX also serves to incentivise participation within the ecosystem. It is used to reward liquidity providers and relayers who contribute to the protocol's operations. These incentives are critical for maintaining the liquidity and efficiency needed to process cross-chain transactions. Additionally, ACX is central to the protocol’s decentralised structure, aligning incentives between users, liquidity providers, and other stakeholders.
Across Protocol was co-founded by Hart Lambur and John Shutt. Hart Lambur is also the co-founder of UMA (Universal Market Access), a decentralized financial contracts platform.
