Abelian (ABEL) is a proof-of-work blockchain that uses post-quantum cryptography and is designed to support selectable privacy levels per transactiohat allows a designated authority to reveal details for accountable private transfers. ABEL is the network’s native coin and is mined with a halving schedule. The whitepaper sets the max supply at 225,179,981 ABEL, defines 1 ABEL as 10,000,000 Neutrinos and describes a target 256-second block interval with 400,000-block eras. The genesis block includes a 20.58 million ABEL pre-mine.

Abelian is a proof-of-work blockchain platform that aims to be secure against attacks from quantum computers by using post-quantum cryptography. The project’s whitepaper describes Abelian as a new blockchain system built with post-quantum cryptographic primitives and designed to support privacy features with optional accountability.

In its design, Abelian uses a transaction output model and one-time derived addresses so a receiver’s published address is not reused directly for each payment. The whitepaper describes privacy protections that include hiding the sender and receiver linkage and hiding transferred amounts for private transfers.

Community documentation describes Abelian as “quantum-resistant blockchain infrastructure” and positions ABEL as the network’s native asset.

ABEL is the native coin used in the Abelian network and is issued via mining rewards during block creation.

The Abelian whitepaper describes three privacy modes that users can select per transaction:

  • Basic privacy: addresses and amounts are public but outputs use one-time derived addresses
  • Full privacy: unlinkability and untraceability for coin addresses plus hidden amounts
  • Full privacy with accountability: transactions are private to the public but can be opened to a designated authority using a tracking mechanism

The whitepaper also describes transaction types used to move between public and value-hidden coins (public, mask, private, unmask) model.

The Abelian whitepaper lists the authors as “Alice, Bob, Eve, and λ” (pseudonymous author names). Community documentation refers to an “Abelian Foundation R&D team” as the group behind the project’s design and research. and issuance

  • Max supply: 225.18 million ABEL (exact: 225,179,981 ABEL)

  • Smallest unit: Neutrino, with 1 ABEL = 10,000,000 Neutrinos

  • Block cadence: target 256 seconds per block, difficulty adjustment every 4,000 blocks chedule:** 400,000 blocks per era with a block reward halving each erL per block, ending at 0.5 ABEL in the final era

  • **Genesis pre-mine:*(9.14% of total supply). The whitepaper says these coins are for decentralization and community building while the community guide describes allocationising, community development and marketing.
