Porn star Stormy Daniels is adding cryptocurrency to her official website to encourage users to consume content.
The adult movie actress, who became famous for her claim to have had an affair with U.S. President Donald Trump in 2006 and a resulting legal battle, has partnered with Vice Industry Token (VIT) for the move, according to an announcement released Friday.
VIT, which was created for use cases within the adult entertainment industry, is being rolled out across StormyDaniels.com to reward site visitors for watching videos. Tokens earned can then be used to access premium content or to purchase services at other sites supporting the token.
Darkreach Communications, the firm managing Daniels' site, will also be rolling out VIT incentives across its other 20-plus other adult websites, according to the announcement.
Calling the move to add cryptocurrency a "no brainer," Darkreach president Rob Murray said:
The news comes as the case for cryptocurrency grows increasingly popular in the adult industry – a space in which anonymity of users is much in demand.
Just last month, adult entertainment website Pornhub announced that would accept the verge cryptocurrency for payments, citing the cryptocurrency's user base and requests on its forums that it should accept the token.
Pornhub VP Corey Price said at the time: "We're extremely excited to offer our fans the ability to use crypto and think Verge, with its focus on anonymity, is the best option – whether for privacy, convenience or both."
