The European Union's (EU) top law enforcement agency recently held a two-day conference on the subject of digital currencies.
The third annual Virtual Currencies Conference was organized by Europol's European Cybercrime Center (EC3), and hosted at its headquarters in The Hague on 14th and 15th July.
Law enforcement representatives from the EU, Canada and the US were in attendance, the agency said. Major topics covered at the event included money laundering and best practices for cases in which digital currencies feature prominently.
Olivier Burgersdijk, head of strategy for EC3, said of the event:
The leader in news and information on cryptocurrency, digital assets and the future of money, CoinDesk is a media outlet that strives for the highest journalistic standards and abides by a strict set of editorial policies. CoinDesk is an independent operating subsidiary of Digital Currency Group, which invests in cryptocurrencies and blockchain startups.
