
r/CryptoCurrency Moons v1 (XMOON) were the initial iteration of Moons (MOON), an ERC-20 token introduced by Reddit in May 2020 to reward users for contributions to the r/CryptoCurrency subreddit. These tokens represented ownership and influence within the community, functioning as part of Reddit's Community Points program.
XMOON tokens were first deployed on Ethereum’s Rinkeby testnet, which provided a low-cost environment for distribution and experimentation. However, they had no direct real-world value due to being on a testnet. Reddit later migrated Moons to Arbitrum Nova, discontinuing XMOON in the process.
