The Graph (Avalanche Bridge) (GRT.e) is a version of The Graph’s native token, GRT, that has been bridged from the Ethereum blockchain to the Avalanche blockchain via the Avalanche Bridge. GRT is used within The Graph network as a work token to incentivize data indexing and query processing. The "e" in GRT.e signifies that this token was originally an ERC-20 token on Ethereum and has been adapted for use within the Avalanche ecosystem, utilizing its capabilities for faster and more cost-effective transactions.
GRT.e is utilized within the Avalanche ecosystem to support decentralized applications (dApps) by facilitating access to blockchain data indexing services through The Graph protocol. This usage includes incentivizing data providers (indexers) and ensuring data integrity (curators) within the Avalanche network, leveraging its lower transaction fees and faster processing times. The token can also be transferred back to the Ethereum network via the bridge, where it can be converted back into the original GRT token.
The transition of GRT to the Avalanche network, resulting in GRT.e, was enabled by the Avalanche Bridge, developed by Ava Labs. This bridge uses advanced security measures to ensure the secure and efficient transfer of assets across blockchains. The operation is managed by a consortium of trusted partners known as Wardens, who oversee the bridge’s security and operational integrity.
