Kryptonite serves multiple purposes within the Sei Network. It enables users to engage in liquid staking, a process that provides liquidity to SEI stakers in exchange for a portion of the network fees they earn. This process enhances the utility of staked assets by allowing users to earn rewards while maintaining liquidity. Additionally, Kryptonite offers functionalities for SEI lending and the minting of collateralized stablecoins, which are pivotal for trading activities on the network. The SEILOR token powers the Kryptonite protocol, providing users with access to SEI staking infrastructure, mint functions for stablecoins, and various other features within the ecosystem​​​​.

Kryptonite was developed as a key project of the Sei Network. The platform's inception dates back to 2022, and it has since been an integral part of SEI's incentivized testnet. The project was co-founded by Christopher Lee and David Braut.
