Rob Mitchell

Rob launched “The Bitcoin Game” in 2014, a long-form podcast that ran for six years and featured guests such as Adam Back, Jeremy Allaire, Peter Todd, Riccardo Spagni, Leigh Cuen and Samson Mow. That year Rob also created one of the first blockchain tokens that could be redeemed for a physical item (a bitcoin keychain), long before the first recognized NFTs. Rob originally became interested in bitcoin in early 2013, and quickly started a business selling bitcoin keychains that he also designed, as a way to participate in the bitcoin community. Rob’s bitcoin-centric photos have appeared on hundreds of sites including The Guardian, PBS News Hour, Vice, Engadget, Gizmodo and CoinDesk, as the featured image accompanying articles on bitcoin. Rob was hired by CoinDesk in 2020 as Deputy Editor, Podcasts.
