News tips and pitches
You can email any news tips, press releases, stories and corrections to us at email@example.com.
Unfortunately, as we receive so many press releases and requests to cover stories, regrettably, we are unable to respond to every one. However, please be assured that we have seen your email and will be in touch if we would like further information.
If you have a startup you want to pitch, the following information would be good to include:
- What, if any, venture capital backing do you have? Otherwise, how are you funded?
- What are the backgrounds of the founding team?
- What traction does your startup have?
- What unique angle and potential does your startup bring to the cryptocurrency ecosystem?
Mike Butcher, Editor of TechCrunch Europe, has a great presentation on how best to pitch a publication and get your story covered. It’s well worth checking out if you’re a digital currency company looking for CoinDesk to cover your story.
If you’re a journalist looking for comment on bitcoin or digital currency in general, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org and check out our Press page for a sample of media mentions and interviews.
We have editors based in London, Boston, San Francisco, Vancouver, and Tokyo who are available for in-person interviews and studio appearances.
If you have a news tip or pitch, send it to email@example.com (sending a news pitch to any other address means there’s less of a chance the right people will read it).
Use the download button in the top-right corner of a chart to download chart images or data.
We are currently only working with selected advertising partners.
You’re welcome to register your interest in advertising with us by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll keep you details on file and get in touch when we open up our advertising programme.
CoinDesk does not accept payment in return for articles or reviews.
WARNING: There are numerous impostors currently emailing companies pretending to be from CoinDesk, BitPay or another bitcoin company, and offering advertising. They are phishing attempts and should be ignored (please report to Google as phishing attempts; this will help Google to recognise that the emails are fraudulent).
Writers and guest contributors
We’re always looking for experienced journalists, writers and guest contributors interested in bitcoin to write great pieces for CoinDesk.
If you’re a freelancer and looking to write either news or features for us, email us at email@example.com with your CV, résumé or examples of your work. You can also check out our jobs page for specific positions we are looking to recruit for.
If you’re involved in the virtual currency industry and would like to write an article or guest column for us, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Again, TechCrunch have a great guide for guest contributors that is well worth looking at.
