US Marshals to Auction $4.3 Million in Bitcoin Next Month
The U.S. Marshals are set to auction off about 660 bitcoin forfeited in federal criminal, civil and administrative cases, worth about $4.3 million.
Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase is partnering with the auction house for the groundbreaking sale.
Winners will receive both the DNS TLD and an NFT representing the ENS version.
The auction house will accept bitcoin or ether for Banksy's “Laugh Now Panel A,” valued at between $2.82 million and $4.1 million.
The GSA's next BTC auction could fetch more than $300K, generating even more excitement among cryptocurrency investors.
The General Services Administration has been auctioning bitcoin since 2014, when the FBI shut down the Silk Road black market.
