Ross Ulbricht Drops Claim to Millions Raised in Silk Road Bitcoin Auctions
The convicted operator of the Silk Road dark market has given up his claim to over $48 million raised after the sale of more than 144,000 bitcoins.
The U.S. Marshals auctioned more than 2,100 bitcoins off on March 19.
The U.S. Marshals will auction off 2,170 bitcoins worth roughly $25 million in two weeks.
The U.S. Marshals are set to auction off about 660 bitcoin forfeited in federal criminal, civil and administrative cases, worth about $4.3 million.
The U.S. agency that manages the sale of seized assets confirmed Thursday it had successfully auctioned off more than 3,600 bitcoin in January.
The U.S. Marshals Service has announced that it will auction off more than 3,800 bitcoins later this month.
