The Taraxa community proudly announces the launch of the Ficus Root Bridge, a native, generalized, fully permissionless bridge that seamlessly connects the Ethereum and Taraxa ecosystems. This innovative bridge not only facilitates the transfer of assets and data but also enhances Taraxa’s network security, laying the groundwork for a future network of interconnected networks. As a cornerstone of Taraxa’s burgeoning DeFi ecosystem, the Ficus Root Bridge represents a significant advancement in decentralized network technology.

Revolutionizing Interconnectivity with Full Permissionless Access

Unlike many existing bridges that require dApps to obtain permission from centralized developer teams, the Ficus Root Bridge is entirely permissionless. This means any dApp can integrate its assets, data, and networks without seeking approval, eliminating the risk of arbitrary bans. Emulating the true decentralized nature of Taraxa Layer-1, the Ficus Root Bridge empowers developers and users with unparalleled freedom and security.

Enhancing DeFi Potential and Network Security

The Ficus Root Bridge opens new horizons for dApps and users on Taraxa, granting access to Ethereum’s vast assets and liquidity. This integration supports a diverse array of DeFi applications, from DEXs attracting liquidity and trading activities thanks to Taraxa’s faster and cheaper network to re-staking protocols securing Taraxa dApps with native tokens from other networks. Additionally, lending protocols can now offer Taraxa users exposure to a wide range of assets while retaining staked Taraxa assets, and stable coin bridging becomes seamless.

Beyond asset bridging, the generalized nature of the Bridge allows for the transfer of arbitrary signals and data. For instance, an on-chain oracle could transmit AI-generated social signals from Taraxa’s Echo platform to other networks, enabling automated trading decisions based on these signals. This flexibility enhances the functionality and interoperability of the Taraxa ecosystem.

Strengthening Security and Enabling Network of Networks

With the deployment of the Ficus Root Bridge, Taraxa’s network security is significantly strengthened. By anchoring Taraxa’s state roots onto the Ethereum network, the cost and complexity of executing long-range attacks on Taraxa are drastically increased, thereby significantly disincentivizing potential attackers.

Moreover, the Bridge facilitates the creation of subgraphs within the Taraxa network, effectively 1000x its overall throughput. Following the trend of successful dApps deploying their own Layer-1 networks, subgraphs allows any dApp to deploy their own subgraph network, bootstrap their subgraph security via re-staked TARA, and further secure their subgraph with their own native staked assets.

A New Era for Taraxa’s DeFi Ecosystem

Following the launch of the Ficus Root Bridge, a suite of DeFi infrastructure and dApps will be introduced, including DEXs, oracles, liquid staking, synthetic stablecoins, and lending protocols.
