Exchange FTX acuerda ser vendido a su rival Binance en medio de temores sobre su liquidez

Binance acordó comprar al exchange cripto FTX en medio del pánico causado por los temores a que FTX no sobreviviera.

"Las cosas han llegado a un círculo completo, y los primeros y últimos inversores de FTX.com son los mismos: hemos llegado a un acuerdo sobre una transacción estratégica con Binance para FTX.com (pendiente de due dilligence, etc.)", tuiteó el martes Sam Bankman-Fried, CEO de FTX.

El CEO de Binance, Changpeng "CZ" Zhao, también acudió a Twitter para confirmar el acuerdo, diciendo que los dos gigantes firmaron una carta de intención no vinculante. Tanto Bankman-Fried como Zhao dijeron que en los próximos días se llevará a cabo un proceso completo de due diligence.

El acuerdo se produce tras una primicia de CoinDesk de la semana pasada que desencadenó la preocupación de que el balance del hermano corporativo de FTX, Alameda Research, era demasiado dependiente de tokens ilíquidos, incluyendo el propio FTT de FTX.

Al conocerse la noticia, el token FTT de FTX subió un 20% hasta US$17,50 desde unos $14,50. El token BNB de Binance se disparó un 8%, pasando de US$326 a US$355.
