The NFL is experimenting with non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

The league said it’s pairing tickets purchased at select games with “Virtual Commemorative Tickets” sent as NFTs to eligible Ticketmaster walletshttps://help.ticketmaster.com/s/article/What-is-a-Digital-Wallet?language=en_US, according to a press release.

The league also released its first batch of commemorative NFTs through Ticketmaster and Polygon on Thursday, which include 125 different collectibles for each of the league’s 32 teams.

A source with the league told CoinDesk that the NFL is “experimenting and trying different things to gauge consumer reaction.”

The NFL partnered with Dapper Labs in September with plans to create its own NFT collectible marketplace on the Flow blockchain, similar to the company’s NBA Top Shot product. The marketplace is expected to be released during the current NFL regular season, which wraps on Jan. 9.
