Brian E Klein is a partner at the litigation boutique Baker Marquart LLP, where his practice focuses on criminal and regulatory defense and civil litigation. He has extensive experience representing clients involved with digital currency and blockchain technology (including many leading entrepreneurs and start-ups). He formerly volunteered as the outside general counsel of the Bitcoin Foundation and served as a US federal prosecutor. In July 2015, a client he represented in federal court facing a single criminal charge of operating an unlicensed money transmitting business, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1960, had his case dismissed before trial.
